A free kick from the penalty area’s 18-yard line

A new free kick rule should be introduced which, for example, will apply to bad fouls which are outside the penalty area, but in the fouling player’s half of the pitch.

Suggested new rule: The free kick will be taken from the 18-yard line of the penalty area. The exact placing of the ball will be determined by the team taking the free kick. All players of the defending team must stand inside the six yard box when the free kick is taken.

The team taking the free kick can place the ball anywhere on the 18-yard line. This offers more variation for the player taking the free kick.
