A goal modification, Football

Today, many football matches end in a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes. The main reason is that these days goalkeepers are tall athletes. When football was invented, players were amateurs and many more goals were scored.

Suggested new rule: An approximately one-metre high grid is installed above the crossbar over the whole width of the goal.

The grid would create interesting situations from a long-range shot that today would fly over the goal. If the ball hits the grid the ball would bounce back onto the pitch and would count as still in play, causing confusion, more action and also more goals.

The grid should be transparent so that spectators behind the goal can follow the game.
